Programming Paradigm

“Once upon a time, computers were very, very, very expensive. Only BIG companies could afford them. Relatively speaking, programmers were pretty cheap. So the programmers would write their code down on paper to “bench check” it for bugs, before wasting precious computer time letting the compiler find the errors.

“Later the balance shifted. Now computers are cheap and programmers are expensive. So the programmers just type any old shit into the computer and let the compiler point out the bleeding obvious.”
